Sukhbir Badal Appoints State Presidents for Delhi, Himachal; Announces Heads of SC and BC Wings

Chandigarh, July 8, 2025 –
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday made key organizational appointments aimed at strengthening the party’s presence in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh while reinforcing its social outreach.
Senior Delhi leader and former DSGMC President Paramjit Singh Sarna has been appointed as President of the Delhi State unit of the party. Sarna, a prominent Sikh leader in the national capital, brings years of administrative and political experience to the role.
For Himachal Pradesh, Daljit Singh Bhinder, an Executive Member of the SGPC, has been named as the State President. Bhinder is known for his active involvement in community affairs and religious representation in the hilly state.
Further, senior leader Gulzar Singh Ranike has been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the Scheduled Caste (SC) Wing of the party. Meanwhile, Hira Singh Gabria will continue as the head of the Backward Classes (BC) Wing, retaining his earlier position.
The appointments are part of the party’s ongoing organizational revamp aimed at expanding its base and strengthening cadre at the state level.
