Sukhbir Badal announces revamped 96-member Working Committee; women, young leaders get key roles; View list

Chandigarh, July 3, 2025: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced the formation of the party’s new Working Committee, comprising 96 members, in a move aimed at revitalising the party structure and strengthening grassroots representation.
In a significant step towards greater inclusivity, the newly constituted committee includes, for the first time, 16 senior women leaders, marking a notable expansion of female representation in the party’s highest decision-making body.

Alongside the core committee members, 20 senior leaders have been appointed as Special Invitees, ensuring that experienced voices continue to contribute to strategic discussions and policy shaping.
The restructured Working Committee also features a substantial number of young leaders, signalling the party's intent to foster generational leadership and fresh perspectives.
The SAD leadership emphasized that due representation has been given to all sections of society, reflecting the party’s commitment to social and regional balance.
Sukhbir Singh Badal is expected to hold further consultations with the newly inducted members in the coming weeks to chalk out the party’s agenda and campaign strategies.
