Chandigarh, January 16, 2025 – Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana' launched by the Haryana Government, elderly individuals from underprivileged families will now be taken on a pilgrimage to the Mahakumbh Tirtha in Prayagraj at government expense. Under this initiative, the government will facilitate the travel of citizens from all districts of Haryana to experience the Mahakumbh Tirtha Darshan.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made this announcement while presiding over a meeting of Administrative Secretaries here today, where he reviewed the achievements of the current government over the past 100 days.
It is noteworthy that under the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana,' eligible elderly citizens aged 60 and above are already being sent to Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lalla. The scheme also includes visits to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Shirdi Sai Tirtha. Now, the scope of the scheme has been expanded to include the Mahakumbh Tirtha in Prayagraj, in addition to the existing destinations of Ayodhya, Mata Vaishno Devi, and Shirdi.
The Chief Minister said that during the first 100 days of the current government, several significant steps have been taken for the development of all sectors, including agriculture, education, and health. The Chief Minister also engaged in detailed discussions with officers to ensure the effective implementation of the government’s public welfare agenda, both for the first 100 days and for the next five years.

The Chief Minister, while directing the officers, emphasized the importance of diligently implementing the 'Citizen Charter' in their respective departments. He urged all officers to ensure the continuous updating of the CM Announcement Portal. In addition, he stressed that demand for works or applications received through Jan Samvad should be treated with utmost importance, and timely solutions must be provided.
Officers to conduct surprise inspections in their respective departments
The Chief Minister instructed all Administrative Secretaries to conduct surprise inspections within their respective departments to ensure that there are no delays in work related to public interest. He further said that all pending cases requiring personal hearings should be resolved at the earliest. Apart from this, he directed the officers to prepare a detailed action plan, outlining short, medium, and long-term goals for their departments, with clear timelines spanning the next five years.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of fully adopting the e-office system and ensuring its integration with the CM Dashboard. He further directed the officers to make adequate arrangements for the proper maintenance of records across all government offices.
Arhatiya commission hiked from Rs 46 to Rs 55 per quintal, Rs 309 Crore released by government
It was informed during the meeting that the state government had increased the commission of arhatiyas from Rs 46 per quintal to Rs 55 per quintal. As a result, over Rs 309 crore has been released to the arhatiyas so far. In addition, information on various public welfare decisions and schemes from other departments were also shared during the meeting.
Nayab Singh Saini also urged all officers to design public welfare schemes in line with the Sankalp Patra in their respective departments and ensure their prompt implementation.
Director General of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department K.M. Pandurang delivered a presentation highlighting the achievements of the past 100 days on this occasion.
Chief Secretary Dr Vivek Joshi, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta along with administrative secretaries of various departments and other officers were also present in the meeting.
