New Delhi, April 7, 2025: On the occasion of World Health Day, Janak Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director of TQM International Pvt. Ltd, offered a powerful reminder that health and vitality don’t always come from complex routines or miracle diets, but from a life grounded in discipline, purpose, and simplicity.
At 83 years old, Mehta remains free from diabetes, high blood pressure, or any major lifestyle diseases, despite a schedule that would exhaust even younger professionals — traveling over 15 days a month and working full days with unwavering energy.
“People expect a secret formula,” says Mehta. “But the truth is, I don’t do anything extraordinary. I’ve just followed a few simple principles all my life.”
His Guiding Principles for Lifelong Wellness:
- Discipline: A trait inherited from his father, who instilled the importance of routine early in life.
- Meditation & Breathing Exercises: Just 20 minutes each morning, a practice he began at age 10.
- Spirituality & Prayer: A habit rooted in his mother’s faith, keeping him centered through every phase of life.
- Daily Walks: Whether at home or arriving in a foreign city at dawn, he never misses his 30-minute walk.
- Minimal Medication: Trusting his body over pills, focusing on self-awareness and natural balance.
- Family Support: Unwavering support from his wife and sons, especially during his voluntary work, which has consumed nearly 30% of his time.
- But the most profound factor, Mehta says, is living with purpose.
- “Health isn’t just about food or fitness. It’s about how you live. When your work is for something greater than yourself, it gives you energy that no supplement can.”
