Three PSPCL Employees Suspended for Irregularities and Negligence: Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO
Patiala, May 8, 2025: Following Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s zero-tolerance policy toward negligence and irregularities, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has suspended three employees with immediate effect for alleged official misconduct and negligence, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO confirmed the action, stating that a preliminary inquiry found the employees had issued tubewell connections in violation of established norms and procedures. The suspended employees are:
- Rohit Sharma, Junior Engineer, Distribution Sub-Division, PSPCL Bhinder Kalan
- Gurinderjit Singh, Assistant Lineman, Distribution Sub-Division, PSPCL Dharmkot
- Kesav Kumar, Revenue Assistant, Distribution Sub-Division, PSPCL Dharmkot
The minister stressed that such lapses are unacceptable. “PSPCL will not tolerate any irregularities or negligence. Employees found guilty of misconduct or violating rules will face stringent action,” he declared.
A comprehensive investigation is underway to examine the extent of the irregularities and identify any additional involved parties. The minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to maintaining transparent public services and protecting consumer interests.
