Rohit Kashyap takes charge as DDM NABARD in Ferozepur, development of border areas to get new impetus
Ferozepur, May 31, 2025: In line with the Government of India’s focused strategy to promote inclusive growth in aspirational and border districts, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has established a full-fledged District Development Manager (DDM) Office in Ferozepur, Punjab.
The new office marks a significant step towards strengthening NABARD’s field presence and fostering developmental coordination in this strategically important district. Rohit Kashyap, Assistant General Manager (AGM), has formally assumed charge as the DDM for Ferozepur.
Kashyap said, the DDM Office will serve as a nodal point for convergence between NABARD and the district administration, banking institutions, cooperative bodies, government departments, and rural communities. It will facilitate effective credit planning, implementation of infrastructure projects under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), and the promotion of sustainable livelihood initiatives including Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), and natural resource management.
By institutionalizing its presence in Ferozepur, NABARD aims to ensure last-mile delivery of development finance and align with the flagship initiatives of the Government of India, aimed at improving socio-economic outcomes in backward, rural, and border areas, he added.
