Ferozepur villagers vow to eliminate drugs at awareness march in Ferozepur Rural
MLA Dahiya administered oath to villagers to play active role in fight against drugs
Ferozepur, May 31, 2025: Under the ongoing state-wide anti-drug campaign led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, an awareness march (Nasha Mukti Yatra) was organised in villages of Ferozepur Rural constituency, including Basti Ajit Wali, Kaku Wala, Sande Hasham, Model Gram Satie Wala, and New Satie Wala.
During the event, MLA Rajneesh Dahiya addressed the gathering, urging every resident to stay vigilant against drug peddlers in their villages. “If anyone sees someone selling drugs, they should immediately inform the police,” he emphasised.
Dahiya noted that the government’s anti-drug initiative is receiving widespread support, with people actively joining the fight against drugs. “The goal of this campaign is to turn the anti-drug movement into a people’s movement, because only with the support of the community can this battle be won,” he said.
He appealed to villagers to raise their voices against drug traffickers, adding that no one involved in this illegal trade would be spared. Dahiya also called for compassion towards drug addicts and those who have already quit, so they can be reintegrated as responsible citizens.
On this occasion, the MLA administered an oath to all those present, committing them to play an active role in the fight against drugs. The event saw the participation of administrative officials, Harman Sidhu (block coordinator of the anti-drug campaign), Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers, village sarpanches and panches, Gram Suraksha Committee members, and a large number of villagers.
