Railway announces train cancellations, diversions due to interlocking work on Amritsar-Pathankot section from June 1

Ferozepur (Punjab), May 31, 2025: The Divisional Railway Office of Firozpur has issued a public notice regarding significant disruptions to train services due to non-interlocking work in connection with the commissioning of electronic interlocking at Verka Station on the Amritsar-Pathankot section.
The changes, effective from June 1 to June 6, 2025, include cancellations, short terminations, short originations, and diversions of several trains, as announced on May 31, 2025.
The following ten trains will remain completely cancelled from June 1 to June 6, 2025: Train No. 54611 (Amritsar to Pathankot) and Train No. 54614 (Pathankot to Amritsar), Train No. 74651 (Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak) and Train No. 74652 (Dera Baba Nanak to Verka), Train No. 74653 (Verka to Dera Baba Nanak) and Train No. 74654 (Dara Baba Nanak to Amritsar), Train No. 74655 (Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak) and Train No. 74656 (Dera Baba Nanak to Verka), Train No. 74657 (Verka to Dera Baba Nanak) and Train No. 74658 (Dera Baba Nanak to Amritsar).
Two trains will be short-terminated during the same period: Train No. 74674 (Pathankot to Verka) will terminate at Kathunangal from June 1 to June 6, 2025 and Train No. 74654 (Dera Baba Nanak to Amritsar) will terminate at Verka from June 1 to June 4, 2025.
The following trains will have altered starting points: Train No. 74673 (Verka to Pathankot) will originate from Kathunangal from June 1 to June 6, 2025, and Train No. 74655 (Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak) will start from Verka from June 1 to June 4, 2025.
One train will be diverted due to the interlocking work: is Train No. 18101/18309 (Tatanagar/Sambalpur to Jammu Tawi) will be rerouted via Jalandhar Cantt-Mukerian-Pathankot instead of its existing route through Jalandhar City-Amritsar-Pathankot from June 1 to June 4, 2025.
Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and check for updates from railway authorities. The Firozpur Division apologizes for the inconvenience caused and assures that these measures are necessary to improve infrastructure and ensure long-term service reliability.
