Hoshiarpur (Punjab), June 13, 2025: In a powerful move to spotlight real-life changemakers, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain today unveiled ‘Charhda Sooraj’—a digital campaign designed to recognize everyday heroes quietly transforming society.
Backed by the Red Cross Society, Hoshiarpur, the campaign will provide a common platform for individuals and organizations contributing positively across fields like education, environment, health, social justice, animal welfare, and more.
Speaking at the launch event at the District Administrative Complex, DC Jain said, “Charhda Sooraj is more than a campaign—it’s a people’s movement. We want to honour those whose stories never make headlines but whose actions make a real difference.”
Under the initiative, people can share stories, videos, or photos of their social contributions via WhatsApp (7380090643) or through the Facebook page “Charhda Sooraj.”These entries will be promoted online to inspire the community and promote a culture of civic responsibility.
The campaign is especially focused on youth engagement, encouraging students and young leaders to take initiative in solving local problems—from climate change to community development.
“This platform will help build responsible, empathetic, and visionary leadership,” Jain said.
She also highlighted that anyone—be it a student, senior citizen, NGO, self-help group, or volunteer—can participate. The goal is to create a chain of inspiration and social action, proving that even small efforts can lead to meaningful change.
The launch was attended by CM’s Field Officer Parampreet Singh, District Education Officer Lalita Arora, Red Cross Society Secretary Mangesh Sood, and Joint Secretary Aditya Rana, who all lauded the campaign’s vision.
DC Jain concluded with a call to action: “Be the rising sun in someone’s life. Share your story. Inspire others. Join Charhda Sooraj.”
