Ludhiana (Punjab), June 13, 2025: Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has hailed the launch of the ‘Easy Jamabandi’ portal by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government as a revolutionary step towards empowering citizens and eliminating corruption from revenue services.
He said the initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will free the common man from the tedious and often corrupt process of visiting government offices for land-related work.
Addressing a press conference in Ludhiana alongside AAP leaders Neel Garg and Baltej Pannu, Bhullar emphasized that the Mann-led government is committed to delivering transparent, corruption-free, and efficient governance.
“The ‘Easy Jamabandi’ portal is not just a service, it’s a reform. By digitizing services like intkal (mutation), fard (land ownership records), and property registration, we are removing the grip of middlemen and corrupt practices that plagued the system for decades,” said Bhullar.
He pointed out that citizens previously faced unnecessary delays and were often coerced into paying bribes due to deliberate errors or omissions in their land documents. "Now, with the process being fully online, there’s no scope for such exploitation," he stated.
According to Bhullar, around 99% of land records in Punjab have already been digitized, and efforts are underway to digitize the remaining 1% to ensure universal access and convenience.
He further informed that citizens can now access land-related services and file complaints online through the revenue department’s portal or by simply calling the helpline 1076.
Issues such as incorrect name entries or document errors will be resolved within 15 days, ensuring timely grievance redressal.
“This initiative is a major relief for millions of people. It reflects our government’s unwavering focus on using technology to serve the people and break the chain of corruption,” Bhullar added.
The ‘Easy Jamabandi’ portal is expected to significantly reduce the burden on government offices, enhance transparency, and bring about a much-needed culture of accountability in the revenue department.
