The plant has been established with a substantial ₹300 crore investment and operates with zero dependence on Chinese imports.
The cutting-edge facility was formally unveiled in the presence of Punjab Industries, IT & Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh was also present as the Guest of Honour.
Spread across six acres, the Ortech Textiles unit is a backward integration initiative designed to supply raw materials exclusively to Tynor Orthotics, dramatically boosting production efficiency and product quality. The company currently runs a ₹600 crore production line, which is expected to scale to ₹2,000 crore following the integration of this new facility.
“This strategic investment will not only solidify Tynor’s position in the global orthopaedic aid market but also create 1,000 to 1,500 new jobs, significantly enhancing economic development in the region,” said Dr PJ Singh, CMD, Tynor Orthotics.
Dr Singh emphasized that Ortech Textiles marks a pivotal step towards complete self-reliance by eliminating dependency on Chinese raw materials. “This in-house unit will manufacture advanced technical textiles used in orthopaedic aids, improving product quality by 25% and reducing raw material costs by an equal margin,” he said.
A J Singh, Executive Director of Tynor, announced plans to double employment across the Tynor Group from 2,500 to 5,000 employees, driven by the new facility.
He praised the Punjab Government’s liberal industrial policies, which made this large-scale investment viable. “We aim to be among the top three orthopaedic aid manufacturers globally,” he added.
The Ortech unit is equipped with state-of-the-art textile machinery, including 3D and jacquard knitting, lamination, and neoprene fabric production technologies. This allows Tynor to achieve unmatched vertical integration in the manufacture of high-performance orthopaedic products.
Already a market leader in India and five other countries, Tynor exports to over 60 nations. With this expansion, it is targeting dominance in 100 global emerging markets.
This bold step places Tynor—and Punjab—at the heart of India’s growing medical manufacturing revolution.
