Chandigarh, June 25, 2025 — Punjab Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has issued a strong statement following the arrest of senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, reaffirming the state government’s uncompromising stance against drug trafficking.
Dhaliwal declared that the Bhagwant Mann-led government will not offer any relief to Majithia or his supporters. He emphasized that the crackdown on drug networks will continue until Punjab is completely free from narcotics.
"No one who has pushed Punjab’s youth toward addiction will be spared,” Dhaliwal warned.
Referring to earlier investigations, Dhaliwal said Majithia's name had surfaced in connection with drug smuggler Bhola in 2013, yet no concrete action was taken by the previous governments.
He also criticized Captain Amarinder Singh's Congress government, stating that despite promising a drug-free Punjab in 2017, it failed to deliver.
“Thousands of drug smugglers have been arrested, their properties demolished, and our fight is far from over,” he said, adding, “We are determined to fulfill our promise of a nasha-mukt Punjab. This is our government’s top priority.”
