The 'War against Drugs' campaign initiated by the state government, under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, has prompted the civil and police administration to implement thorough actions aimed at eradicating drugs in the district, as per the directives of the Punjab government.

SSP Amneet Kondal further stated that the police have registered 708 cases and arrested 1133 suspects since March 1, 2025.
Additionally, she reported that property valued at Rs 9,72,38,899 belonging to drug smugglers has been frozen in the district thus far.
She also clarified that any individual involved in drug trafficking and asset creation will have their property attached after receiving approval from the competent authority, following legal protocols.
In a passionate appeal to the district's residents, SSP Amneet Kondal urged citizens to collaborate with the police to eliminate drug use.
If anyone witnesses illegal drug activities in their area, they are encouraged to report it to the Punjab Government's anti-drug helpline at 97791-00200 or the Bathinda Police's anti-drug helpline at 91155-02252.
The identity of the informant will be kept confidential, she assured.
