"Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" Campaign: Tree plantation drive held across schools

Tarn Taran (Punjab), July 14, 2025: Under the Government of India's environmental initiative "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", schools across the Tarn Taran district enthusiastically participated in a tree plantation drive aimed at promoting green awareness and honoring the nurturing essence of motherhood.
District Education Officer (Elementary), Jagwinder Singh Lahri, led the campaign by planting saplings in various government elementary schools across the district.
Notably, saplings were planted at Government Elementary School Kalla and Government Elementary School Khadoor Sahib No. 2, sending out a strong message about the importance of preserving and enriching the environment.Speaking on the occasion, DEO Jagwinder Singh emphasized,
“Just as there is no shade as comforting as that of a mother, the cool shelter of these trees brings peace and balance to our lives. Protecting the environment is a collective responsibility, and every individual must contribute.”
District Nodal Officer Gurmeet Singh Khalsa also addressed the gathering, highlighting the growing nationwide enthusiasm for the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" mission.He praised the active participation of schools and educators in supporting this noble cause.
The event witnessed wholehearted involvement from staff and faculty members of both schools, who pledged to continue nurturing the planted saplings and encouraging students to be conscious stewards of nature.
