Punjab SC Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi Felicitated by Sri Guru Ravidas Temple Committee in New Zealand
Chandigarh, July 17, 2025 –
The Managing Committee of Sri Guru Ravidas Temple, Hastings, New Zealand, honoured Jasvir Singh Garhi, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, during his personal visit to the country.
Garhi was felicitated for his consistent efforts in raising awareness among Scheduled Castes regarding their constitutional rights and for his dedication to resolving community-related issues in Punjab.
The temple committee's top representatives, including President Raman Kant, Vice-President Jaswinder Kumar, Secretary Joga Singh, Deputy Secretary Ravi Kumar Mehmi, Treasurer Manjit Sandhu, and Deputy Treasurer Jaswinder Sahjal, were present on the occasion. Committee members Ramjit Singh, Charandas, Tehal Ram, Mahinder Pal, Sohan Lal, Gurbaksh Kaur, Kashmir Kaur, Neelam Rani, Hema Chumbar, Gurpreet Mall, Manjit Sandhu, Surinder Mahi, and others also participated in the ceremony.
The gesture was seen as a mark of appreciation from the Punjabi diaspora for Garhi's commitment to social justice and empowerment of marginalized communities.
