New Delhi, October 30, 2025:On the sacred occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Maharaj, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has released a 20-gram pure silver commemorative coin in collaboration with the Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC), a Government of India enterprise.
Announcing the release, DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka said that the MMTC has entrusted the Committee with the responsibility of issuing and distributing this special souvenir coin. The coin, he stated, is available for devotees across India and abroad at government-fixed prices through MMTC outlets, DSGMC-managed religious stores, and prominent Gurdwaras including Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in New Delhi.
Sardar Kalka described the coin as more than a religious keepsake — calling it “a symbol of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s supreme sacrifice and unwavering spiritual strength.” He said that, much like sacred souvenirs brought from pilgrimage sites, this silver coin would serve as an eternal emblem of Guru Sahib’s divine light and martyrdom for every household.
He added that the initiative, undertaken jointly by the DSGMC and the Government of India, seeks to spread Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s timeless message of faith, selflessness, and sacrifice across the world.
Sardar Kalka appealed to the Sikh Sangat to obtain the commemorative coin and join in honoring and immortalizing the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Maharaj.
