New Delhi, December 31, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha spent New Year’s Eve with gig workers at Old Rajinder Nagar, where delivery partners from various platforms held a symbolic strike to highlight their concerns and make their voices heard.
Expressing solidarity with the workers, Chadha said their demands for fair wages, humane working conditions, dignity at work, and social security are legitimate and just. He emphasized that the protest was not intended to disrupt services but to draw attention to the challenges faced by gig workers.
“This protest is about being heard. These workers are the backbone of the platform economy and deserve respect, security, and fair compensation,” Chadha said.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader urged the management of major delivery platforms, including Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy and Zomato, to listen to the workers’ concerns and engage with them sincerely to find meaningful solutions.
Reaffirming his support, Chadha said he stands firmly with gig workers in their fight for dignity, rights and social protection, and called for constructive dialogue between platform companies and workers to ensure fair and sustainable employment practices.
