Ferozepur civil services get reality check during ADC's early morning inspection

Ferozepur, June 4: Acting on the directions of Punjab Local Government Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Amandeep Kaur conducted an early morning surprise inspection of various development and sanitation works being carried out by the Municipal Council, Ferozepur.
During the field visit, Dr. Amandeep Kaur was accompanied by Municipal Council Executive Officer Poonam Bhatnagar, Assistant Municipal Engineer Lakhwinder Singh, Superintendent Dr. Sukhpal Singh, Sanitary Inspector Rustam Sher Sodhi, and other officials.
The inspection covered several key areas of the city, including Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Delhi Gate, Baghdadi Gate, and adjoining localities. The ADC reviewed cleanliness arrangements, solid waste management, debris disposal, sewerage-related issues, maintenance of road dividers, removal of overgrown grass and weeds, ongoing road construction works, pothole repairs, and installation of paver blocks.
Officials informed that deficiencies noticed during the inspection were immediately pointed out, and instructions were issued for their prompt rectification. Dr. Amandeep Kaur directed the Municipal Council authorities to form a special team to accelerate cleanliness drives, beautification projects, installation of paver blocks, and road construction works to ensure better civic amenities for residents.
She also appealed to shopkeepers and citizens to dispose of their waste in dustbins instead of throwing it on roads and streets, enabling the Municipal Council’s door-to-door waste collection system to function effectively.
The ADC further ordered strict action against individuals who damage roads without permission, dump garbage or construction debris on public roads, or undertake construction activities without obtaining approved building plans.
Among those present during the inspection were Executive Officer Poonam Bhatnagar, Assistant Municipal Engineer Lakhwinder Singh, Superintendent Dr. Sukhpal Singh, Junior Engineer Gaurav Bajaj, Sanitary Inspector Rustam Sodhi, and other Municipal Council staff members.
