Mumbai (Maharashtra), July 11, 2026: Days after being removed from ZEE5 in India, Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Satluj (previously titled Punjab 95) has now also been taken down from the streaming platform's international library.
Director Honey Trehan confirmed the development, saying, "Yes," when asked about the film's removal from overseas markets.
The film had premiered on ZEE5 last week after nearly four years of delays linked to censorship issues. However, it was removed from the platform in India within 48 hours following government directions. It remained available internationally until its latest removal.
The global takedown has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with users on X and Reddit claiming the film is no longer accessible outside India. Many users criticised the move, while some argued that the controversy has only increased public interest in the film.
Satluj, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, has remained at the centre of controversy due to prolonged censorship-related issues since its completion.
