Over 80 participants showcase talent at 8th Ferozepur District Yoga Championship
Ferozepur, July 19, 2026: More than 80 yoga enthusiasts displayed remarkable flexibility, balance, and discipline during the 8th District Yoga Championship organised by the District Yoga Association, Ferozepur, at DC Model Senior Secondary School on Sunday. The event aimed to promote awareness about yoga and encourage a healthy lifestyle among people of all age groups.
The championship was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp under the leadership of Association President Dr. Anirudh Gupta. Participants impressed the judges with their outstanding performances in various yogasana categories, reflecting dedication, concentration, and physical excellence.
Winners across different age categories included Savir Bagi, Rajmeet Kaur, Yash, Vanshika, Saavi Sharma, Harleen Kaur, Pradeep Kaur, Sonia, Mamta and Bir Singh, among others. The championship concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were felicitated and extended best wishes for the upcoming State-Level Yoga Championship. Organisers also expressed gratitude to participants, coaches, parents and volunteers for making the event a grand success.
Principal Yachna Chawla, Deputy Principal Manish Banga, Vikramaditya Sharma, Heena Arora, Senior Head Sports Abhishek Madan, Yoga Teacher Kamaljit Singh, Gaurav Sharma and several other dignitaries were also present.
Association General Secretary Dr. Gurnam Singh Farmah said eminent personalities, including Rajinder Sharma, founder of Dhingra Park, Advocate Ashwini Sharma, Dr. K.C. Arora and Arun Chharia, attended the event. The judging panel comprised Devraj Khullar, Ashok Kumar, Kulwant Singh, Roshan Bajaj, Kuljeet Singh, Bir Singh, Amarinder Singh Farmah, Pooja Channa, Sanjani Aggarwal, Gurdev Singh, Rekha Arya and Vishav Bandhu. The proceedings were conducted by Vishav Bandhu Arya.
