Farmers from several states to assemble at Delhi’s Kisan Ghat against proposed India-US Trade Pact
Ferozepur, July 20, 2026: Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and other states are set to participate in a massive rally at Kisan Ghat, Delhi, on July 21 under the banner of the Desh Bachao Morcha to oppose the proposed India-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said convoys of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (Punjab), along with several other farmer organisations, have started their journey towards Delhi from different parts of Punjab. The Amritsar-Gurdaspur convoy was flagged off from Beas Bridge and will halt overnight at Fatehgarh Sahib-Sirhind before proceeding to Delhi via the Shambhu border.
Pandher alleged that the proposed bilateral trade agreement could adversely affect India's agriculture, dairy sector, small traders and rural economy by allowing increased access to subsidised American agricultural and dairy products. He demanded that the Centre make all documents related to the proposed agreement public and hold consultations with farmers, dairy producers, labourers and other stakeholders before finalising any trade deal.
