Writer Heera Singh Toot’s 21st Book ‘Toot Di Pairh’ released in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 5, 2026: The 21st book of noted writer Heera Singh Toot, titled Toot Di Pairh, was formally released at a literary gathering in Ferozepur. The prose collection was appreciated for its focus on social realities, human experiences and emotions rooted in everyday life.
President of Satluj Press Club Gurnam Singh Gama Sidhu, State Senior Vice-President of Krantikari Kisan Union Avtar Singh Mehma, District President of Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF), Ferozepur, Malkit Singh Haraj, and Sarabjit Singh Bhawra were among those present on the occasion. The dignitaries congratulated Heera Singh Toot on the publication of his 21st book.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurnam Singh Gama Sidhu, Avtar Singh Mehma and Malkit Singh Haraj jointly emphasised the need to reconnect the younger generation with books. They said books broaden one’s outlook, develop a sense of social responsibility and play an important role in building a better society. Literature, they added, not only provides knowledge but also contributes to the overall development of personality.
Malkit Singh Haraj and Sarabjit Singh Bhawra, while sharing their views on the book, said Toot Di Pairh presents social realities, experiences of human life and emotions of the common people in an effective manner. They appealed to readers, particularly youngsters, to read the book, saying that good literature gives a new direction to thinking and helps make life more meaningful.
Addressing the gathering, author Heera Singh Toot thanked all those present for their support. He said connecting with books was the need of the hour as books make people aware of their history, culture, rights and responsibilities. A society that remains connected with books, he said, always moves forward on the path of progress.
Expressing concern over the growing influence of social media among youngsters, Toot said the habit of reading was gradually declining, affecting intellectual development. While social media could be useful when used positively, he stressed that reading books remained equally important for developing creativity, rational thinking and social consciousness among youth.
Jaspal Singh Josan, Kapil Sethi, Swaran Singh Josan, Narinder Jammu, Amit Sharma, Kirpal Singh, Simranjit Singh, Jagga Ghulami Wala and several others associated with literature, journalism, teaching and social work were also present. The participants congratulated Heera Singh Toot on the publication of his 21st book and wished him continued success in his literary journey.
