Breaking: SC Collegium recommends elevation of three Chief Justices as Supreme Court Judges

New Delhi, September 28, 2026: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of three High Court Chief Justices as judges of the Supreme Court.
The recommendations include Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court; Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court; and Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
The recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium will now be processed as per the established procedure for appointments to the apex court.
The development comes as part of the ongoing process of filling vacancies in the Supreme Court.
