Chandigarh water supply to remain at low pressure in evening on Sept 30, Oct 1

Chandigarh, September 28, 2026: Residents across Chandigarh will receive water at low pressure during evening supply hours on September 30 and October 1 due to a 48-hour shutdown for replacement of a major water pipeline, the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh said on Monday.
The shutdown has been allowed from September 30 to October 1, 2026, for replacement of the existing 1,200-mm diameter prestressed concrete (PSC) pipeline with a mild steel (MS) pipeline at villages Jhungian and Jandpur.
Due to the work, pumping of raw water from Phase-III Kajauli to the Water Works in Sector 39, Chandigarh, will remain affected during the shutdown period.

- Morning: 3:30 am to 9:00 am — Full pressure
- Evening: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm — Low pressure
October 1, 2026
- Morning: 3:30 am to 9:00 am — Full pressure
- Evening: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm — Low pressure
The Municipal Corporation has advised residents to store adequate water in advance and cooperate during the shutdown period.
