Jalandhar, September 30, 2026: BJP leader Ashwani Kumar Sharma on Wednesday said that whatever Union Home Minister Amit Shah had promised to the country, he had delivered on those commitments.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra in Jalandhar, Sharma cited the abrogation of Article 370, the fight against Naxalism and measures to counter terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir as examples of what he described as Shah’s fulfilled commitments.
“Whatever Amit Shah Ji has said or promised to the nation to date, he has fulfilled,” Sharma said. Referring to Shah’s address on Punjab, Sharma said the Union Home Minister had spoken about the state’s financial situation and the concerns of farmers and the business community.
However, Sharma said these issues could be meaningfully addressed only if Punjab was freed from drug abuse.
“The most important priority is to save Punjab’s youth and safeguard the future of the younger generation,” he said.
The remarks came at the culmination of the BJP’s 13-day Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra, which focused on the party’s campaign against drug abuse in the state.
