Chandigarh, June 26, 2024: Prof. (Dr.) Manpreet S. Manna, President Awardee and the Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, received ISTE Best Engineering Administrator Award 2023 for Punjab State on June 22, 2024, at the 53rd Annual National Faculty Convention of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
The award was presented by Prof. Pratap K. Desai, President of ISTE, in the esteemed presence of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT & KISS, alongside the daughter of Prof. (Dr.) Dilbagh Singh Hira
Prof. (Dr.) Manna’s distinguished career is marked by his impressive 30 years of teaching, learning, and administrative excellence showcasing his exceptional leadership in higher education.
His tenure as Director at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) saw him leading transformative projects, including the AICTE-NEQIP Scheme for financial aid in the North Eastern Region of India and the development of the SWAYAM platform for MOOCs, earning him the President Award for his pioneering contributions.
He is also the recipient of various International and national accolades, like the Thought Leadership Award (2023), Global Excellence Award (2022), Outstanding Contribution in Education Award (2021), and the ISTE Section Best Teacher Award (2020).
His global influence is affirmed by recognition from UNESCO and the World Economic Forum, and his participation in academic and policy discussions in countries including the USA, Thailand, Singapore, and Switzerland.
An accomplished researcher and innovator, Prof. (Dr.) Manna holds 66 national and international patents, has authored 3 books and 6 book chapters and his 161 publications and participation in over 500 national and international conferences, workshops, and faculty development programs has scholarly impact is far-reaching.
His global exposure and comprehensive understanding of diverse educational systems have significantly contributed to his recognition as the Best Engineering Administrator by ISTE.
