Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab), October 5, 2025: The Punjab Government’s Education Department has conferred the prestigious State Award on Dimple Verma, Principal of Government High School, Karamgarh, Sri Muktsar Sahib.
The honour was presented during a state-level event held at the birthplace of the Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib, by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who presented her with a certificate of merit, a shawl, and a medal. The recognition has brought celebrations to the local community.
Dimple Verma received the award in recognition of her remarkable contributions to the school, particularly for transforming a stage into a keyboard-themed digital learning platform, which has now earned state-level acclaim. Under her leadership, the school has also excelled in promoting moral education, holistic student development, and various inzastructural improvements.
Since assuming charge as the first female principal of Government High School Karamgarh on January 16, 2021, Verma has revitalised the school, which previously had dilapidated classrooms and infrastructure. She initiated multiple development projects with the support of her staff and the local community, focusing on both education and extracurricular activities.
To encourage digital learning, she introduced the innovative keyboard stage, the first of its kind in Punjab, where students participate in street plays, educational activities, and cultural performances. Under her guidance, student Kamlesh Rani won first place in the ‘Indigenous Toys and Games’ category at a state-level arts festival.
The award also acknowledges the active support from the panchayat, local residents, and school staff, which contributed significantly to these achievements. Expressing her gratitude, Dimple Verma thanked Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, MLA and Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, along with district education officers Jaspal Mogha, Deputy DEO Rajinder Soni, Yadvinder Singh Mann, and other officials for their continuous support.
Commenting on the honour, Verma said, “This recognition increases my sense of responsibility, and I will continue my efforts to enhance education and student development. This achievement is the result of the dedication of my staff and the support of the local community at every step.”
