Border School honours 30 NGOs for ₹35 Lakh aid to 3,200 flood-hit students
Ferozepur, November 20, 2025: Government Senior Secondary School, Gatti Rajo Ke, organised a solemn Sukhmani Sahib Paath and religious ceremony with heartfelt participation from the staff, students, and village residents.
As the area continues to recover from the severe floods of the past two and a half months, the campaign ‘Each One Adopt One’, initiated by Dr. Satinder Singh, Deputy DEO (Secondary), Ferozepur, along with the school staff, has emerged as a major support system for affected students. Under this initiative, more than 30 social service organisations and donors were honoured with siropao, appreciation certificates, and saplings for providing essential assistance—including fees, uniforms, stationery, bags, medical camps, and relief supplies.
Representatives from several organisations, including Give & Grow Foundation’s Jasjit Singh Malik, Satnam Sarb Kalyan Trust (Bindra Ji and Amritpal Singh), Hambla Foundation, Ajit Group of Publications, Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council Delhi, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Democratic Teachers Front Ferozepur, Punjab Government Pensioners Association, Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Rotary Clubs, Ferozepur Foundation, Sarbat Da Bhala Trust, Airtel Bharti Foundation, and NRI donor Jaspreet Kaur, were present. Their collective efforts enabled aid worth ₹35 lakh to reach 3,200 students across 30 flood-affected schools in the district.
National Awardee Dr. Satinder Singh expressed gratitude, noting that the campaign succeeded due to strong community participation and the dedication of the Gatti Rajo Ke school staff. He emphasised that the mission aims to ensure that financial hardships caused by the floods do not interrupt the education of affected children.
The event witnessed the presence of BSF Deputy Commandant Gurnam Singh, Company Commandant Mahesh Verma, Dr. Roop Singh, BNO Kapil Sanan, Vocational Coordinator Ashwinder Singh, faculty from SBS Nursing College, village sarpanches, school committee members, teachers from neighbouring schools, and a large number of villagers.
A significant contribution was made by the entire school staff—including Priyanka Joshi, Neeru Sharma, Geeta, Suchi Jain, Shweta Arora, Praveen Bala, Sroochi Mehta, Pritpal Singh, Davinder, Arun Kumar, Mandeep Singh, Vishal Gupta, Jagdish Chander, Vijay Bharti, Mahima, Neetika Chawla, Kamaldeep Kaur, Baljit Kaur, Kanchan Nancy, Karan Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Rajni, and campus manager Kashmir Singh—who worked tirelessly for the success of the event.
The ceremony concluded with the serving of Guru ka Langar, followed by a formal vote of thanks by School Incharge Tajinder Singh.
