7-day Faculty Development Programme inaugurated at Lamrin Tech Skills University, Punjab

Nawanshahr (Punjab), June 15, 2026: A seven day faculty development prorgram on the topic “Transforming Higher Education through Emerging Technologies and Skill-Based Learning” inaugurated with great enthusiasm and academic fervour at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab
The inaugural session commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. The programme was formally opened by Dr. B. S. Satyal, Pro Vice-Chancellor, LTSU, who highlighted the need for educational institutions to embrace technological advancements and skill-oriented learning models to prepare students for the demands of the future workforce.
The first session was delivered by Dr. A. S. Chawla, Vice-Chancellor, LTSU, on the topic “Leading in the Turbulence.” Drawing upon his extensive leadership experience, Dr. Chawla discussed the challenges and opportunities faced by educational leaders in a rapidly changing world.
He emphasized adaptive leadership, resilience, innovation, and strategic decision-making as key attributes required to navigate uncertainty and drive institutional excellence.
The second session was conducted by Dr. Jatinder Goswami on “Am I an Educationist?” The thought-provoking session encouraged faculty members to reflect on their professional identity, responsibilities, and impact as educators. He emphasized the transformative role of teachers in shaping learners, fostering critical thinking, and contributing to nation-building.
The third session was led by Dr. Jatinder Singh Gill on the topic “Role of Teachers in Extension Activities.” He underscored the importance of community engagement, outreach initiatives, and social responsibility in higher education. Dr. Gill highlighted how extension activities bridge the gap between academia and society, enabling institutions to create meaningful and sustainable social impact.
The week-long FDP will continue with a series of expert lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions focused on emerging technologies, quality enhancement, innovation, and skill-based education.
