Breaking: Two suspects detained in Influencer Mad Sandhu murder case
Police Expect Major Revelations Within 24 Hours

Amritsar (Punjab), October 7, 2026: Police have detained two suspects for questioning in connection with the murder of social media influencer Mad Sandhu in Amritsar, Police Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, Gill said the two suspects had been rounded up and were being questioned as investigators work to identify the alleged shooters and establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
According to the Police Commissioner, the investigation has so far indicated a possible involvement of criminal elements and the possibility that the killing was carried out for money. However, he said the police were examining all aspects of the case before reaching any conclusion.
Gill said Mad Sandhu was a prominent social media influencer and had been involved in several controversies on social media. Investigators are examining whether any of these issues could be linked to the murder.
Asked about a possible extremist or other organised angle, the Police Commissioner said no involvement of any extremist organisation had surfaced so far. He said the preliminary investigation suggested that the incident could have been carried out by criminal elements on a contract basis.
Gill said the names of the suspects and other crucial details were not being disclosed at this stage to avoid compromising the investigation.
He appealed to the media and the public to wait for 24 hours, saying the police were hopeful of making major disclosures in the case after further investigation. The Police Commissioner said teams were working to trace the alleged main shooters as well as those who may have planned or facilitated the crime.
