Drug smuggler’s illegal property demolished in Ferozepur
FEROZEPUR, September 3, 2026: Intensifying its crackdown on the drug trade under the Punjab Government’s “Yudh Nashya Virudh” campaign, the Ferozepur Police, in coordination with the Revenue Department, demolished an illegally constructed property belonging to an identified drug smuggler on Thursday.
The joint action was carried out around 2.30 pm at village Chine Wale Jhugge, Dakhli Chandi Wala, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadar Ferozepur. The property belonged to Sona Singh, son of Bugga Singh, who is facing prosecution under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with the trafficking of commercial quantities of contraband.
The authorities said the action was part of the ongoing drive against drug traffickers and their illegal assets. They reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy was being followed against the narcotics trade and that strict action would continue against properties allegedly acquired or constructed through proceeds of drug trafficking.
Officials said the administration would continue coordinated enforcement measures against identified drug smugglers and take action against their illegal assets as per law.
