Dev Samaj College of Education holds Sports Day
Mandeep declared Athlete of the Year, Seema and Vanshika Best Sports Persons

Chandigarh, February 21, 2024: Dev Samaj College of Education(DSCE), Sector 36-B, Chandigarh, celebrated its 38th Annual Sports Day. The event began with flag hoisting by Dr. Agnese Dhillon, Secretary, College Management, Dev Samaj College of Education.
The programme was followed by a march past by the students of B. Ed., M.Ed. and P.G. Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, P.G. Diploma in Child Guidance and Family Counselling of the college, after which an oath-taking ceremony by students pledging to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship took place.
A demonstration of various sports by the students was witnessed . Track and field events like 100 metre race, 50 metre race, relay race and shot put were held. Interesting games like tug of war, lemon spoon race, sack race, chatti race, slow cycling, and many more were also showcased.
Mandeep, a student of B.Ed., was conferred with the ‘Athlete of the Year’ award. Seema and Vanshika, students of M.Ed., were awarded with the title of 'Best Sports Person of the Year' for representing the college at the All India Inter-University and National levels.
The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director of the Sports Department at Punjab University, Chandigarh. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, an international sports person and Principal I. S. Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh was also present
Dr. Agnese Dhillon along with the chief guest and Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat felicitated the winners of the various competitions held and gave away the prizes and certificates.In his address, Dr. Malik enlightened the students about a career in sports and highlighted the role of sports in a person's well-being.
The event concluded with fun games for teachers and supporting staff of the college. Dr. (Mrs.) Richa Sharma, the officiating principal of DSCE appreciated the event organizers and congratulated the winners and other students for showcasing the true sportsmanship.
