Jalandhar Adm intensifies efforts against stubble burning
- SDMs and Tehsildars camp in fields during festive season to ensure crop residue management

Jalandhar, November 4, 2024 : In a determined effort to combat stubble burning, senior officials from Jalandhar's civil administration spent the festive period in fields, enforcing proper crop residue management across the district.
Acting on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, SDMs, Tehsildars, and police teams carried out regular visits to discourage stubble burning.
Notably, SDM Adampur Vivek Modi and SDM Phillaur Amanpal Singh personally extinguished stubble fires in Daroli Khurd and Boparai villages, respectively, while educating farmers on the importance of adopting eco-friendly residue management practices.Through hands-on intervention, officials aimed to drive home the need to preserve the environment.
In addition to these on-ground efforts, the administration organized a series of awareness activities, highlighting the benefits of refraining from paddy stubble burning.
Progressive farmers who opted for sustainable farming methods were praised by officials for their role in protecting the environment. SDM Subhi Aangra, SDMs Lal Vishwash and Balbir Raj Singh personally visited farmers in their respective jurisdictions to appeal them not to set crop residue on fire.
The senior officials are also urging them to manage their crops in the field through various in citu technics which further improve soil fertility.
Due to this comprehensive approach, Jalandhar has seen a noticeable reduction in stubble burning incidents this year, reflecting the district administration’s commitment to curbing pollution and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
