Review Meeting of District Cooperation Development Committee Held
Int’l Year of Cooperatives: ADC(D) stresses building a better world through Cooperation Deptt

Ferozepur, January 23, 2025: Efforts should be intensified to promote the schemes of the Cooperation Department through cooperative societies to ensure maximum awareness and benefits for beneficiaries. These directives were issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Lakhwinder Singh Randhawa, during the review meeting of the District Cooperation Development Committee (DCDC).
Randhawa emphasized that the primary agenda of the meeting was aligned with the International Year of Cooperatives, focusing on creating a better world through cooperative efforts.
The meeting reviewed various schemes initiated by the Government of India for the Cooperation Department. These included the implementation of Model By-laws for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), computerization of PACS, establishing PACS as common service centers, opening petrol and diesel pumps, and the World’s Largest Food Grain Storage Project.
He directed that these schemes be implemented effectively in Primary Agricultural Credit Societies to maximize their benefits for farmer members.
The meeting witnessed the presence of several officials, including DR Cooperative Societies Sandhya Sharma, AGM Development Manager NABARD Savita Singh, Senior Fisheries Officer Harmanpreet Kaur, ADO Gurwant Singh, Deputy Director Dairy Randeep Handa, Dr. Isha Sekhri from the Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Princejot Singh from Milkfed, and Navneet Kaur from the Cooperative Bank, among others.
