Soil health cards to be given to all farmers of the state: Minister Shyam Singh Rana

Chandigarh, February 10, 2025 - Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said under the 'Har Khet-Swasth Khet' campaign, soil samples from every acre of the state will be collected in the next three to four years and soil health cards will be given to all farmers.
He said under this campaign, so far about 70 lakh soil samples have been collected and after analyzing 55 lakh samples, soil health cards have been distributed, and the work on the remaining samples is in progress.
He informed that in 2022, the department had also received a gold medal from the Skoch Group for the Soil Health Card Project. 86.65 lakh soil health cards have been distributed under the Soil Health Card Scheme.
The Agriculture Minister informed that 17 new permanent soil and water testing laboratories have been established in the state. 54 new small soil testing laboratories have also been opened in various mandis.
Apart from this, 240 small soil testing laboratories have been established in government senior secondary schools and government colleges.
In these, soil samples are collected and tested by the students of science.Under this scheme, the portal of 'Har Khet-Swasth Khet' was launched by the department on 26 May, 2022 for soil testing.
Shyam Singh Rana further said laboratories have been set up in Sirsa and Karnal to monitor pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables, soil and water. A total of 3640 samples have been analyzed in the year 2023-24.
He said the effort of the state government is to test the land of the farmers and provide them the right guidance for farming.
