Two Republic Day Camp participant NCC Cadets honoured at Battalion Headquarters
Jalandhar : 10 February 2025 : 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, Commanding Officer Col Vinod Joshi honoured two Republic Day participant Cadets along with their families at Battalion Headquarters. Under Officer Manish Kumar of Lyallpur Khalsa College and Cadet Rishi from Giani Kartar Singh Memorial College, Tanda attended the honouring ceremony with his mother and father, respectively.
Lieutenant Dr. Karanbir Singh of Lyallpur Khalsa College said that it is a matter of great joy and pride for us that Under Officer Manish Kumar presented the cultural heritage of Punjab in the form of Bhangra in front of the Prime Minister and other special guests. Colonel Vinod Joshi said that the cadets reached Delhi after attending seven camps and passing the selection process of several competitions which shows their dedication, hard work and determination. Both the cadets have brought glory to Jalandhar and Punjab.
The country’s oldest 2 Punjab NCC Battalion is proud of them. Manish Kumar is a resident of Barring village. Last year also, he attended four camps for Republic Day but he was not selected. He is feeling very happy and proud to be selected and participate in the Delhi parade this year. Manish Kumar’s mother, Mrs. Jaswant Rani became emotional while receiving the award. Cadet Rishi is a resident of village Rajpur Tanda. She participated in the Flag Area Competition in Delhi. Accepting the award, Cadet Rishi’s father, Honorary Captain Kuldeep Singh said that it is a memorable moment for him that her daughter achieved this feat. Lieutenant Dr. Karanbir Singh, Subedar Major Gulzar Singh, cadets and their families attended this award ceremony.
