Ferozepur Division to run 13 Special Trains for Kumbh Mela pilgrims
Ferozepur, February 10, 2025: In view of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, the Ferozepur Division of Indian Railways has announced the operation of 13 special reserved trains to facilitate the travel of pilgrims. These include three trains from Ferozepur Cantt, four from Amritsar, and six from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station.
The Kumbh reserved special trains will run on specific dates: February 22 from Ferozepur Cantt, February 20 from Amritsar, and February 14, 18, and 23 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. These trains, witnessing an occupancy of over 100%, aim to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for devotees traveling to the sacred event.
To manage the high passenger influx, senior officials of the Ferozepur Division are closely monitoring the operations. Commercial department officials at originating stations have been directed to implement crowd control measures, ensuring hassle-free travel for all passengers. More-over, continuous announcements are being made at originating and intermediary railway stations through the public address system to keep travellers informed.
