Verka Plant Chairman Celebrates Birthday with visually impaired, announces support for Blind Home
Ferozepur, March 15, 2025: In a heartwarming gesture, Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, Chairman of Ferozepur Verka Plant, chose to celebrate his birthday with the visually impaired residents of the Home for the Blind in Ferozepur. Verka products like Kheer, recently launched Rabri and Pio milk bottles were gifted to the inmates.
The event was made special by the musical talents of the visually impaired inmates—Sukhchain Singh, Ramandeep, Rakesh Kumar, and two young girls Kiranjit Kaur and Harjot Kaur—who performed a soulful rendition of the ceremonial birthday song. The celebration continued with songs, ghazals, mimicry performances, and a reading from Braille, showcasing the remarkable skills of the residents.
The Home for the Blind currently houses 26 inmates, most of whom are pursuing school and college education. Over the years, nearly 40 former inmates have secured government jobs after receiving free lodging, boarding, and education at the institution.
Expressing his joy, Chairman Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, accompanied by General Manager G.P. Singh, announced that the Verka Plant will provide 3 kg of milk daily and 2 kg of pure desi ghee every month to the Home for the Blind.
"I feel immense happiness celebrating my birthday with the visually impaired, who are an integral part of our society. I assure continued support for this institution," Tibbi stated.
As a token of appreciation, the Home for the Blind presented a memento to Gurbhej Singh Tibbi. General Manager S.P. Singh also lauded the talent of the inmates and commended the management for their dedicated efforts.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Ramesh Sethi (Manager), Avtar Singh (Supervisor, Blind Home), P.D. Sharma (President, Senior Citizens Council), Deepak Sharma (Founder Foundation), Vipul Narang (Social Activist - YesMan), Anil Gupta (Blind Retd. Lecturer), Harinder Jeet Singh, Rajinder Singh and others.
