Partap Bajwa skips police summon, fails to appear before Punjab police

Chandigarh, April 14, 2025 – Senior Punjab Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa did not appear before the Punjab Police today despite being summoned to present himself at noon, sources said.
Bajwa had been issued a notice to appear for questioning, but according to sources, he did not turn up. Further details regarding the reason for the summons or any official response from Bajwa are yet to be made public.
Notably, an FIR was registered late evening yesterday after he made sensational disclosure that 50 Grenades had arrived in Punjab out of which 18 have exploded and 32 are yet to be exploded.
He had apprehended that it could not be said who would be the target of these 32 Grendes.
After his statement, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered and an enquiry, and two Intelligence officers AIG Ravjot Kaur Dhaliwal and SP Harbir Singh Atwal reached his home for investigation and police had alleged Bajwa is not cooperating in the investigation.
However, Bajwa's lawyer went to the Cyber Police Station at Phase 7 and assured the police that he (Bajwa) would join the investigation tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2 pm.
