Chandigarh, April 14, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Malvinder Kang has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa for failing to appear before the Punjab Police despite being summoned regarding his recent statements on grenade threats in the state.
Kang questioned Bajwa’s reluctance to cooperate with the investigation, asking, “If you have information about 50 grenades, why are you hiding it from the police? Why jeopardize Punjab’s security?”
Highlighting Bajwa’s continued presence in the media, Kang said, “Bajwa Ji, you have hours for television interviews but no time to answer police questions. What are you afraid of?” He emphasized that no personal engagement could take precedence over matters of national and state security.
Kang further accused Bajwa of either concealing the truth or spreading panic through unverified claims. “If you truly have evidence, come forward. If not, admit you were bluffing. But playing politics on Punjab’s security is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.
The AAP leader underscored that the police are merely seeking Bajwa’s assistance to validate his own statements. His refusal to comply raises serious questions about the credibility of his claims and his priorities as a public representative.
The Punjab Police had issued a summon following Bajwa’s controversial remarks regarding the presence of grenades in the state. However, the Congress leader has yet to appear, citing “personal commitments.”
Kang concluded by warning that security matters demand transparency and accountability. “No one, regardless of position, should be allowed to compromise the safety of the people for political mileage,” he said.
