Police-BSF jointly apprehend smuggler with heroin on Ferozepur border
Ferozepur, April 20, 2025: Acting on specific information of BSF intelligence wing, the alert BSF troops successfully seized 1.029 kg of suspected heroin and apprehended an Indian smuggler today in a joint operation with Punjab Police in border village Habibwala of district Ferozepur.
At about 03:30 am, the BSF troops recovered a suspected heroin packet from a house of village- Habibwala and subsequent joint search with Punjab Police led to the recovery of another packet and a motorcycle at about 06:20 am from a wheat field near the house.
On tracing the owner of the motorcycle, the troops caught hold of a suspected person, a resident of the same village, who confessed to having contacts with a Pak-based smuggler. He had attempted to retrieve the drone-dropped consignment the previous night, but fled on spotting the movement of BSF troops. Both the narcotics packets have been found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape with Illuminating sticks and iron rings attached.
Reliable inputs of BSF intelligence wing and swift response of BSF troops with Punjab police emerged as an impenetrable barrier for the nefarious attempts of drug smuggling by the narco-syndicate from across the border.
