Punjab offers subsidy on eco-friendly farm machines to help end stubble burning
CAO Sidhu urges farmers to avail subsidy on machines to curb stubble burning
Ferozepur, April 25, 2025: In a major push towards sustainable agriculture and reduction of stubble burning, Chief Agriculture Officer Gurpreet Singh Sidhu announced that the Punjab Government is offering modern agricultural machinery to farmers at substantial subsidies. These machines allow for sowing the next crop without burning crop residue, thereby cutting costs and preserving the environment.
According to Sidhu, these machines help mix crop residue back into the soil, promoting eco-friendly and modern farming practices. The government aims to reduce the number of stubble-burning incidents across the state by encouraging more farmers to adopt these subsidized machines.
