Summer Ticket Checking Drive: ₹30 Lakh penalty collected from 4,363 passengers in just 3 days
Ferozepur, April 25, 2025: As per the directives of the Railway Headquarters for a special ticket checking campaign, a month-long Summer Special Ticket Checking Drive is being conducted in the Ferozepur Division under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjay Sahu and led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Paramdeep Singh Saini. The aim is to curb ticketless and irregular travel across the division.
The drive will continue until May 21, 2025. During the intensive checking conducted between April 22 and April 24, 2025, a total of 4,363 passengers were found traveling without tickets or with irregular tickets, and approximately ₹30 lakh in fines were collected.
Key trains where thorough inspections were carried out include, 19223 (Jammu Tawi Express), 19224 (Gandhinagar Capital Express), 12920/12919 (Malwa Superfast Express), 15708 (Amrapali Express), 13006 (Amritsar Howrah Mail), 19226 (Bhagat Ki Kothi Express), and 12238 (Begampura Express)
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini has appealed to all rail passengers to always travel with a valid ticket and in the appropriate coach class to avoid inconvenience to fellow travellers.
