Ramesh Singh Arora to represent Pakistan at Pope Leo XIV's oath-taking in Vatican

Punjab (Pakistan), May 17, 2025: In a notable diplomatic move, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has nominated Ramesh Singh Arora, Minister for Minority Affairs, to represent Pakistan at the oath-taking ceremony of Pope Leo in Vatican City. Arora will be accompanied by Kheal Das Kohistani, Minister of State for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony.
Pope Leo will be formally installed as the 267th head of the Catholic Church, in a ceremony expected to attract leaders and dignitaries from around the globe.
Ramesh Singh Arora, a prominent voice for minority rights in Pakistan and the first Sikh minister in the country’s federal cabinet, is seen as a symbol of Pakistan’s message of religious inclusion and interfaith harmony.
