OPERATION SINDOOR : Railway salutes soldiers with ‘Sainik Samman’ benches at stations
Ferozepur, May 17, 2025: As part of the nationwide celebrations honouring the success of Operation Sindoor, Indian Railways has been organising special events across the country to salute the valour of the Indian Armed Forces. In this spirit, a tribute event was held on May 17 across key railway stations under the Ferozepur Division.
Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, and Firozpur were adorned in patriotic colours. Passenger benches at these stations were painted in the colours of Indian Army uniforms and inscribed with the words "Sainik Samman" (Soldier's Tribute), symbolising the courage and dedication of India’s brave soldiers.
The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sanjay Sahu and led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini. DRM Sahu praised the effort, calling it “a commendable initiative by Indian Railways to honour the nation’s heroes.”
This tribute not only beautifies the stations but also serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers to ensure the country’s safety and sovereignty.
