23 Ferozepour railway personnel learn CPR to aid passengers in emergencies
Ferozepur, May 23, 2025: Dr. Kamal Kumar, working at the Divisional Hospital of Ferozepur Division, explained that CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. This technique can save a person's life if their breathing or heartbeat stops. During a heart attack, the heart cannot pump blood to other parts of the body, including the brain and lungs. Sometimes it takes time for an ambulance to arrive, reach the hospital, and receive medical aid, which can lead to the person's death. In such situations, CPR can save a person.
At the Divisional Hospital, Dr. Kamal Kumar provided information on the correct technique of CPR to the commercial department and frontline staff. They were given basic information and trained with demonstrations on mannequins. Today, 23 railway personnel were trained.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu stated that the training of frontline staff of the division in CPR and first aid will continue so that primary medical assistance can be provided to rail passengers during any emergency.
