Railways to run Katihar-Amritsar summer special trains from May 28
Ferozepur, May 23, 2025: To meet the increased travel demand during the summer season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of special trains between Katihar and Amritsar. The move aims to ease passenger congestion and provide added convenience during the holiday rush.
The special service will run under Train No. 05736 (Katihar to Amritsar) will run every Wednesday from 28 May to 25 June 2025 – totalling 5 trips and Train No. 05735 (Amritsar to Katihar) will operate every Friday from 30 May to 27 June 2025 – also totalling 5 trips.
These trains will stop at key stations including Purnia Jn, Araria Court, Forbesganj, Darbhanga Jn, Sitamarhi, Raxaul Jn, Gorakhpur Jn, Gonda Jn, Sitapur Jn, Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur Jn, Ambala Cantt, Rajpura Jn, Jalandhar City, Beas, and more.
The journey covers a wide route with convenient timings for passengers, offering facilities in AC, Sleeper, and General classes. The initiative reflects the Railways’ ongoing commitment to improving passenger services, especially during peak travel times.
