Chandigarh, May 23, 2025: Reacting to the allegations of the BJP Punjab, Neel Garg said that the AAP government delivered a decisive blow to land mafia by introducing new land pooling scheme.
This project is not merely an infrastructure development but a groundbreaking initiative that establishes the foundation for Punjab’s future. However, this people-centric move has unsettled the Akali Dal, Congress, and BJP, who have long exploited Punjab’s resources through the unchecked reign of the land mafia.
“The BJP's press conference on this issue felt as absurd as the Taliban calling for peace,” said Neel Garg, senior spokesperson of AAP. “This is the same BJP whose policies resulted in the martyrdom of over 750 farmers during the protests. The Akali-BJP and Congress regimes enabled the land mafia, turning legislators and bureaucrats into collection agents while ordinary people suffered.”
Neel Garg highlighted the revolutionary aspects of AAP’s land policy, emphasizing its fairness and transparency. Under this policy, no land will be taken from its owners against their will, ensuring that property rights are fully respected.
For every acre of land contributed, landowners will receive 1,000 square yards of residential plots and 200 square yards of commercial plots, ensuring equitable compensation.
By establishing a direct partnership with farmers and eliminating middlemen, the policy guarantees transparency and maximized benefits for all stakeholders. Moreover, landowners stand to earn up to four times the value of their property without any losses or hardships, making this initiative a true game-changer for Punjab's development.
“These steps showcase our commitment to fair, transparent governance and our dedication to serving the people of Punjab, not exploiting them,” said Garg.
Neel Garg accused the opposition of deliberately spreading fear and misinformation. “The Akali Dal, Congress, and BJP are panicking because they can no longer exploit Punjab’s resources for their gains. The real question is: are they with the people or with the land mafia?”
Garg said that the New Urban Estate Project is a step toward reclaiming Punjab’s glory and ensuring justice for every citizen.
"Our policy is rooted in transparency, fairness, and progress. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, we are building a Punjab where governance prioritizes the people, not vested interests," he said.
