Hundreds of friends and family members joined at Arya Samaj mandir of sector 7 at Chandigarh to bid final farewell to an esteemed public servant who devoted his life to the country.
A 1978-batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer, Mr. M. Deena Dayalan, passed away peacefully on May 16 at the age of 74, leaving a legacy of service and honesty.

Large number of IAS, IPS, and PCS including politicians of various political parties attended the Shanti Path and Prayer meeting.
An outstanding individual, he made a substantial contribution to India's energy regulatory system while serving as a member of the Central energy Regulatory Commission (CERC) until his retirement. His commitment to public service was matched only by his dedication to his family.

Mrs. Ajanta Dayalan, his cherished wife, is a famous IA&AS officer from the 1978 batch who was the Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India. She is currently the head of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench.
As a Punjab cadre IAS officer and the present Director General of School Education, their son, Mr Girish Dayalan, carries on the family's service legacy.
Their daughter-in-law, Mrs Amneet Koundal, IPS, who is the Senior Superintendent of Police in Bathinda, demonstrates the family's dedication to public service.
