Chandigarh, June 1, 2025 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the 'One Nation, One Election' concept is not merely a political idea but a vision rooted in national interest.
He stated that this initiative is designed to optimize time, resources, and public participation.
"When a nation moves forward together, it can overcome every challenge. A unified nation can find solutions to every crisis," he remarked.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people during 'Gurugram Run' organized on the theme 'One Nation, One Election' in Gurugram today. Haryana Minister for Industry and Commerce, Rao Narbir Singh, and Minister of State for Sports, Gaurav Gautam, also participated in the event.
Addressing the youth gathered before flagging off the 'Gurugram Run', the Chief Minister said that 'One Nation, One Election' is not just a slogan but a reflection of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s vision for national unity.
He described it as part of the larger dream of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, a vision that fosters strength through unity. The Chief Minister stated, "This initiative is designed to give equal opportunities to every citizen, encouraging progress as one nation, moving forward together."
He also highlighted the significant benefits of simultaneous elections across the country, including substantial cost savings, more efficient use of administrative resources, and uninterrupted development.
In his address, the Chief Minister pointed out that the 'Gurugram Run' carries a powerful message for the youth—nation-building is not achieved solely through meetings and policies; the resolve and energy of youth are essential to it.
"When the power of youth comes forward, it ignites a wave of change," he said, adding that the enthusiastic participation of youth in the 'Gurugram Run' symbolizes the awakening of India’s future. This run is not just a symbol to physical fitness but also to the fitness of our democracy.

This is not just the government’s responsibility; it is a collective effort for nation-building, where the role of every citizen is vital. The Chief Minister further conveyed to the youth that only through their active participation can this idea reach every corner of the state.
Unity Against Challenges Ensures Success
Referring to the success of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign, Haryana Chief Minister highlighted it as a prime example of social awareness and public participation. Launched by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi in 2015 from the sacred land of Haryana, the campaign has evolved into a nationwide movement, with Haryana and the entire country playing a pivotal role in achieving its objectives.
He also addressed the recent terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, condemning the cowardly assault. He reaffirmed that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the government is fully committed to eradicating terrorism.
In solidarity with this resolve, Tiranga Yatras are being held across the country, symbolizing national unity, patriotism, and collective determination to combat terrorism. Both these examples demonstrate that when the nation stands united against any social or national challenge, success is inevitable.
Inspiration from Gurugram Can Drive Change in Haryana and Across India
Nayab Singh Saini stated that Gurugram is not merely a modern city but a symbol of India's burgeoning entrepreneurship, technological advancement, and youth empowerment.
He emphasized that the inspiration drawn from this vibrant city—home to Mata Sheetla’s sacred land and a hub for innovation, technology, and skilled youth—has the potential to serve as a catalyst for change, first in Haryana and then across the entire country.
The ideas born here should transcend political boundaries and become a national priority.
“If an idea benefits the nation, accelerates administration, and strengthens democracy, then necessary constitutional changes, in alignment with the times, should be considered. He also highlighted that India, being the world’s largest democracy, must continuously explore ways to make its democratic system more capable, transparent, and cohesive. He explained that the ‘One Nation, One Election’ idea emerges from this very thought process. Today's event is not just about fitness, it is about the future, he added.
